Life’s journey is full of twists and turns, isn’t it? For Maryam, the creative mind behind TARTISTRY BY M, her baking adventure started 14 years ago with crafting cakes, cupcakes, and macarons for cherished celebrations. But when the pandemic struck, Maryam’s husband, Mirza encountered setbacks in his own business, prompting them to rethink their path forward.

“At first, we only offered 1 flavor, then we expanded to 2, followed by 5, and now we proudly have 18 flavors,” Maryam exclaimed with excitement..Growth is a slow baked, delicate and sweet process like a tart!A tempting array of tarts to satisfy every sweet craving

In a bold move, Maryam decided to pivot to baking mini tartlets—an endeavour that rejuvenated their entrepreneurial spirit and also brought their family closer. With their four children, whose names all start with M, eagerly pitching in, TARTISTRY BY M became a true family affair, bustling with shared moments of creativity and togetherness.

This transition not only brought newfound joy and purpose but also opened up a whole new world of flavors and possibilities for their growing business. Inspired by a desire to serve the Muslim community in Singapore, they decided to delve into the world of halal mini tartlets, offering delicious treats for families and clients alike. During Ramadan, their Assorted Vanilla Fruit tartlets stole the show, flying out of their homebased kitchen every day. With the whole family pitching in, from baking to folding boxes and deliveries, TARTISTRY BY M became a true labor of love.

“At first, we only offered 1 flavor, then we expanded to 2, followed by 5, and now we proudly have 18 flavors,” Maryam exclaimed with excitement..

They were doing so well in the first 2 years of business that they were able to move into a hybrid kitchen booth space in Seranggoon in 2023. Together with her husband, Mirza, they quickly learnt how to manage the business outside the home, which they both agreed is a different ballgame altogether, worked with part timers and began participating in schools and trade events as well.

Growth is a slow baked, delicate and sweet process like a tart!

As a Muslim-owned business, they take pride in offering 100% halal treats, catering to the halal dietary needs of their customers. While they may not be halal certified, their passion for crafting delicious mini tartlets for the masses knows no bounds.

“We’ve had the pleasure of working with big names like McDonald’s, IBM, and Apple, as well as serving several government bodies. Alongside these collaborations, our involvement in school bake sales has led to the inception of The Dessert Coffee Cafe (Schools Edition), which has garnered significant interest from schools and continues to thrive.” Shared Maryam.

Word-of-mouth referrals and requests from overseas clients in Kuala Lumpur and Australia for their friends and family residing in Singapore, also emphasized the brand’s growing popularity.

But Maryam’s vision extends beyond the kitchen. Inspired by the demand for her expertise, she’s gearing up to find a bigger and better kitchen space and launch baking workshops and educational initiatives.

A tempting array of tarts to satisfy every sweet craving

At TARTISTRY BY M, only high quality chocolate covertures, from the brand Callebaut, as well as other quality ingredients are used. Their tartlets come in doorgift size, platters mini, medium and large sizes, gift boxes, towers as well as wedding centrepieces. Each of them is a delightful array of mini tartlets with exquisite flavors and textures. For chocolate lovers, their Fabulous Sixteen Mini Platter is a must have! This box features their four most fabulous chocolate flavours, namely Dark Choc Seasalt, Choc Cocoa Nibs, Raspberry White, and Hazelnut Crunch.

Their Pick-a-Platter option, allows you to mix and match 36 mini tartlets across 4 delectable flavors, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy. TARTISTRY BY M is the only one to offer a whole box in flavour selections of your choice.

For those craving a taste of local fusion, they also have seasonal Cempedak Gula Melaka Mini Platter, Ondeh Ondeh, Bandung Limau as well as Rose Pineapple!

Weddings are taken to new heights and those who demand nothing short of excellence would be thrilled with their captivating 5 tier pyramid wedding tower. If you wish for something fuss free, the All Tartlets Mini Tower makes a lovely table centrepiece.

Looking for the perfect gift for that special occasion or festive gatherings? The Artisanal Giftbox is a visual and delicious delight, featuring artisanally decorated mini tartlets in themes to suit – like bunny rabbits for Chinese New Year last year, tiny kaa’ba and little sheep mini tartlets for Eid’ul Adha.

But the indulgence doesn’t stop there. TARTISTRY by M also offers freshly baked croissants, fudge brownies, and filled-ring donuts—a delightful addition to any occasion, whether it’s a wedding, birthday bash, or heartfelt farewell.
