How OYAPEYASOM Started

OYAPEYASOM: Bringing a Touch of Joy to Every Student’s Work With Customisable Stamps and Stickers Stamps and stickers have long been beloved tools in classrooms, used to motivate and reward students. But finding meaningful, culturally relevant, and customisable designs isn’t always easy— especially for Malay teachers. This is where OYAPEYASOM steps in, blending creativity with purpose to deliver personalised classroom essentials that educators genuinely love. How OYAPEYASOM Started Founded in 2018, OYAPEYASOM was born out of the creativity and determination of a full-time working mother of three, who saw a gap in the market for fun and meaningful stamps tailored for Malay educators. Inspired by her love of design and a strong desire to support teachers, she launched her first product, The Owl Series—a charming set of owl-themed reward stamps for Malay teachers. Starting with just $100, the founder juggled work, family, and a new business. Early success came when friends placed the first preorders, turning her vision into reality. Over time, her designs expanded from Malay to English, Tamil, and Arabic stamps, catering to a wider group of passionate educators.

Overcoming Challenges and Building a Community

Starting and growing OYAPEYASOM wasn’t without its challenges. One major hurdle was balancing creative pursuits with business demands. As the sole creator, shipper, marketer, and accountant, the founder had to learn every aspect of running a brand. Managing time, maintaining work-life balance, and reaching a broader audience remain ongoing challenges. However, one of the unique aspects that set OYAPEYASOM apart is the customisation it offers. Teachers often share their own Bitmojis and personal designs, which are then transformed into stamps and stickers. This personal touch strengthens the connection between educators and their teaching tools, making each stamp truly meaningful.

Exciting Plans for Growth

Today, OYAPEYASOM serves customers across Singapore, with a steadily growing customer base and social media following. What began as a side project has evolved into a well-loved brand among educators who value creativity and personalisation in their classrooms.

Looking ahead, the founder has big plans to take OYAPEYASOM directly into schools through onsite pop-up sales. This initiative would allow teachers to experience the products firsthand, offer instant feedback, and place custom orders on the spot. Over the next five years, the vision is to build a deeper community connection, making it easier for more teachers to access fun, inspiring classroom tools tailored to their needs.
