Jessica, founder of MONKEY LOOT, and Sophie, founder of POASIA, are business partners who run the KLOOASIA HOME store together. This communal retail studio, located in the heart of Joo Chiat, serves as a platform to present an exquisite array of local products and craftsmen. POASIA specializes in handcrafted items from Cambodia, focusing on exquisite craftsmanship, while Monkey Loot offers skillfully crafted woodware originating from Indonesia.

While working together on their first collaboration, they recognized the synergy between their artisanal products and their shared aim of aiding communities in their native countries, they decided to pool their resources and form a partnership and create this unique space. Sophie moved to Singapore last year, which prompted the partnership and subsequent merger of these two brands.

KLOOASIA HOME is not just about their own brands – it’s a collective space that continuously spotlights Singaporean brands and makers. Situated on the fifth floor of the JK Center building, right next to the Peranakan houses, it has since become a haven frequented by customers who appreciate quality and uniqueness.

KLOOASIA HOME brings together an assortment of sustainable, handmade, and eco-friendly products from Indonesia, Cambodia, France, India, and Singapore. What more could one ask for ?

At KLOOASIA HOME, an enticing selection of featured brands awaits your discovery. Goodness Gracious Store brings eco-consciousness to your kitchen with their beeswax food wraps, while Kelly Snacks is the first food brand at KLOOASIA HOME. Edrial Hayward Candles offers the magic of hand-poured coconut wax candles, straight from Sentosa, and Maelstrom offers beautiful and functional handmade utensils. Explore the world of sustainable beauty with By Iro Iro , Oak Tree Living  and Choisi Par.

From POASIA, you can immerse yourself in a diverse collection of locally crafted artisanal products. Explore an array of items, including throws, carpets, pillowcases, cushion covers, rugs, and ceramics, all with their roots in Cambodia.

MONKEY LOOT offers a delightful range of woodenware that not only enhances the aesthetics of your home and kitchen but also promotes sustainability. Discover a selection of 100% natural wooden items, including cups, bowls, spreaders, plates, serving spoons, tongs, stirrers, trays, salad bowls, and much more.

Growing by creating customer connections and delivering true value

The relocation of KLOOASIA HOME from an industrial warehouse to a charming studio in Joo Chiat has been a game-changing move. Joo Chiat’s bustling environment has significantly increased foot traffic and brand recognition. Word of mouth has also played a vital role in the brand’s success. Satisfied customers frequently leave good Google reviews and eagerly recommend the brand to others. Notably, there has been an emergence of community clusters; for instance, a Japanese customer’s visit sparked a wave of Japanese clientele to the store.

Engaging customers through changes in order packing, new product releases, and the introduction of new brands attracts additional customers. Furthermore, customers are fully aware that the business is a trusted source of high-quality and sustainable products, and returning customers’ devotion is visible as they return for birthday and housewarming gifts.

Today the primary market is Singapore, but the brand has made an entry into international markets. POASIA, for instance, found success in France through online sales. However, the focus is now on Asian markets with KLOOASIA HOME having formed a partnership in Cambodia and operating from a dedicated space in a store in Phnom Penh, the capital city.
