Luxury brand Abara unveiled its first bricks and mortar store at B1-51 Takashimaya Shopping Centre in a special preview cocktail for media friends and influencers yesterday. Ms Yuki Yang, who is Abara’s founder and Creative Director, was present to celebrate the introduction of Abara into Singapore’s luxury and fashion retail landscape.
“I’m deeply honoured to have our media friends and influencers here today at this special preview to witness the opening of Abara’s first store, and the launch of Abara’s Summer 2023 Collection. Abara is more than just Singapore’s luxury leather label; we are witnessing a fashion landmark offering bespoke handbags that are designed and made in Singapore. I would like to express my deep gratitude to all of you for supporting Abara’s endeavour of launching an international-quality luxury label that will put Singapore on the fashion world map,” Yang shared in a media statement.
Abara’s team of craftmanship is based in Singapore and Yang sources her materials like leather and exotic skins from France. A bespoke bag using alligator skin may take up to two months, depending on the availability of the material sourced and the complexity of the colours needed. Interestingly Yang’s background is deeply rooted in fashion, and she was a reseller of luxury bags in Shanghai before moving to Singapore. Here, she is compelled to fulfil her dream as a designer, and thus Abara was born.
