In a world where modernity and sophistication come with a hefty price tag, the founder of Theory Of Two, Eliza Bahaudin, wanted everyone to have their dream wedding without costing an arm and a leg.
“How much did your wedding cost?” A popular question among newlyweds in Singapore. With the rising cost of living here, planning a wedding on a budget is no easy feat. With wedding favors averaging at $500 for 100 pax and the average cost of wedding stationery being $230 per 100 pax, it is no surprise that weddings can cost up to $30,000. In the enchanting realm of affordable elegance, Eliza Bahaudin has become a beacon of hope for couples yearning for a celebration that mirrors their love, and not their budget. Through the unique blend of creativity and compassion, she crafts wedding items that not only capture the essence of romance but also redefine the very notion of affordable sophistication. In the studio of her imagination, love blossoms without compromise, proving that a fairytale wedding need not be reserved for the privileged few.
Despite starting a career in Tech, Eliza always had a passion for design, especially in weddings. After staying at her job for 15 years, she decided that a 9 to 5 office job would not cut it for her. Despite being interested in designs and wedding decor, Eliza always felt that weddings were unnecessarily expensive.
“The cost of a venue, outfits and jewellery are already so high. Shouldn’t there be a way to lower the cost of wedding stationery and door gifts?” Eliza mentioned. Whenever she attended a wedding, her mind wondered how wedding door gifts be improved. With the modernisation of wedding decor, an idea struck her.
In 2019, Eliza founded Theory Of Two with a mission to reduce the cost of wedding needs. She started her mission with wedding stationery. Despite wanting to ensure affordability, Eliza wanted to ensure that her items would still be elegant and contemporary. She took some inspiration from past wedding invitation cards while also incorporating current trends.
After solidifying her wedding invitation designs, she started working on formulating her room sprays. “We wanted to be on trend but still make it our own.” After taking a while to formulate these, she began ideating what more she could do to lessen the price of other wedding needs. Wedding Gift Trays and wedding sign boards became her next target and eventually managed to fulfil those dreams.
After solidifying the formula for her room sprays, she moved on to creating more wedding favors like candles, utensils and even Muslim prayer mats. “I wanted Theory Of Two to be a wedding company that everyone can go to. A company that has wedding favors for everyone.
While weddings are a once-in-a-lifetime, it would not be a good financial decision to break the bank just for one event. Eliza hopes that Theory Of Two will be able to help as many people with their wedding planning. “Everyone deserves their special day without splurging so much money.”
