Rollney, a dessert brand known for its delectable Hungarian pastries, was d by Narresh. The inspiration for this venture came during Narresh’s trip to Malaysia, where he was on the lookout for a unique business opportunity. During his visit, he encountered a distinctive Hungarian street food that piqued his interest. After meeting the original founder of this product, Narresh decided to bring this delightful dessert back to Singapore, marking the inception of Rollney.

Unique Selling Proposition and InnovationFuture Plans and Expansion

Narresh’s vision was to introduce a unique dessert experience to Singapore and eventually, all of Asia. He recognized that while the traditional Hungarian pastries were delicious, they needed to be adapted to suit the Asian palate. Hence, he modified the serving size, making it softer and more palatable. This resulted in a pastry that was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. To enhance the flavors further, ice cream and various toppings were added, creating a unique dessert that quickly captured the hearts of many.

Unique Selling Proposition and Innovation

Rollney’s unique selling proposition lies in its adaptation of traditional Hungarian pastries, known as Kürtőskalács, to fit Asian tastes. The pastries come in three flavors: original, cinnamon, and chocolate, each offering a distinct and delightful experience. These pastries are rolled in different coatings such as sugar, cinnamon, or chocolate, and served with Hokkaido milk ice cream, which is low in fat.

Customers can choose from over 20 toppings, including caramel, Biscoff, and Kinder sauce, to customize their dessert. Rollney’s dedication to freshness is another key aspect that sets it apart. All pastries are made fresh in-store, allowing customers to witness the entire process from dough rolling to the final product. This commitment to quality ensures that every bite is as fresh and delicious as possible.

Innovation is at the heart of Rollney’s strategy. The brand constantly introduces new flavors and serving methods to keep up with changing trends and customer preferences. Seasonal flavors like taro, matcha, and pistachio have been added to the menu to cater to the growing demand for Japanese-inspired desserts. Additionally, Rollney offers savory options like tuna and hot chili for those who prefer something less sweet. The brand also provides takeaway ice cream boxes, making it convenient for customers to enjoy their favorite treats at home.

Future Plans and Expansion

Rollney has come a long way from a small home-based gelato business to becoming an international brand. The first outlet, situated in the heart of Singapore, marked a significant milestone. Rollney intends to further expand within Singapore and is actively seeking franchise partners to help achieve this growth. The goal is to establish Rollney as a household name across Asia, with India as the next target market.

The brand’s future plans encompass not only geographical expansion but also continuous innovation in its product offerings. By staying updated with global dessert trends and incorporating them into their menu, Rollney aims to remain at the forefront of the dessert industry. With its unique blend of traditional and modern flavors, Rollney is poised to make a lasting impression on dessert enthusiasts worldwide.
