We never really know what gifts life can unexpectedly bring to us. For Syazwan Samsul who traveled frequently to Saudi Arabia on a holy pilgrimage, these visits not only enriched his soul but also led him down an intriguing path of oriental perfumes. He also explored luxury scents and rarities like agarwood and frankincense – treasures not commonly found in Singapore.

Inspired by the cultural tradition of gifting perfumes, Syazwan started buying these fragrances in bulk during his pilgrimages. Sharing these aromatic treasures with friends and family, Syazwan unwittingly sparked a delightful demand for these scents. Enthusiastic inquiries about these unique scents and requests for purchases started pouring in.

Seizing the market opportunity, Syazwan ingeniously brought the brand online, christening it with the beautiful name Hayat Ar-Rahalat, meaning “Life of a Traveller.” The name encapsulates the essence of his journey, where a passion for travel and scent exploration, transformed into a flourishing business.

Exquisite perfumes carefully blended with pure and natural elements

The brand’s exclusive focus lies in oriental perfumes, distinguished by their alcohol-free and unadulterated composition. Primarily dealing in raw perfumes such as amber and sandalwood, the uniqueness lies in the essence of these fragrances. Whether it’s a single-note perfume or a blend, the brand’s hallmark is the use of raw elements sourced from natural origins – flowers, trees, roots, and even animal-derived ingredients like deer musk or ambergris.

Indulge in the timeless allure of classic oil perfumes, originally crafted for the sacred Raudhah Ash-Syariff in Madinah. Immerse yourself in the lovely sweetness of fresh, citrusy white musk, sourced from the revered Madinah Al-Munawwarah. The limited edition Dehn Al Oud collection presented in a special gift box, unveils dark, woody, and animal characteristics, ensuring a truly unique experience.

The exclusive Bukhoor collection, each named after the holy cities. Oud Makkah Mukarramah, Oud Madinahtul Munawwarah, and Oud Quds Al-Sharif invite you to savor distinct aromatic journeys.

Sofiyah, a sweet, light, and fruity fragrance, captures the essence of tropical fruits and wildflowers from eastern rainforest gardens. Mahboobah, a perfect scent for her, blends various perfume notes, including vanilla, floral, musky, and sweet. Istanbul Rose envelops the senses in a strong rose fragrance nuanced with warm spices, creating a classy enduring aura.

Rawdah, named after the blessed garden in An-Nabawi, emanates a fresh and woody scent. Riyadhul Jannah, meaning “gardens of paradise,” combines the exquisite scents of white musk and pure saffron. Musk Madinah, a light and fresh fragrance, reveals soft white musk with citrus, lemongrass, jasmine, sandal, and vanilla notes, offering a refreshing and gentle experience.

Special bulk orders for weddings and events are also undertaken and customization of the perfumes too can be done. You can also WhatsApp the team at +65 8505 6956 to know more.

The future is fragrant with growth opportunities

Hayat Ar-Rahalat embarked on a fragrant odyssey armed with just essential capital and select perfumes. Initially rooted in the local Singapore scene, the brand connected with patrons at events and pop-ups, blossoming into an international sensation, catering to fragrance enthusiasts from Egypt, the UK, Australia, Canada, and beyond.

What started as a modest lineup of five scents has evolved into a symphony of over 40 fragrances. The business, although not large-scale, received daily orders and witnessed swift sell-outs during special releases and limited editions. At the heart of this fragrant success story is customer loyalty and the whispers of praise that travel far and wide. Soon the brand’s Instagram outreach expanded to over 1,000 followers, complemented by 2,000 followers on Facebook.

Today, Syazwan, along with his wife Atiqah Rafie, actively manages the business. The future holds elegant notes of expansion – building connections with a wider audience, prestigious events, and the creation of a dedicated team. The vision is, to craft an aromatic saga, that seeks to cultivate an appreciation for the cultural nuances infused in each fragrance.
